Class Rules

Class Rules

Observe and promote the true spirit and code of martial arts: Honor, Spirit, and Integrity

Students will pledge at all times to avoid injury to themselves and other students.

Students will never laugh, make fun of or mock other students trying new techniques. This is totally alien to the Tae Kwon Do philosophy.

  • All Students will be held accountable for actions outside of class, including school and home
  • The Instructor is in control of the class at all times. Any concerns should be brought to his/her attention and not dealt with personally by a student or parent.
    • All direction given by the instructors is to be obeyed.
      Personal Hygiene:
    • Uniforms are to be neat and clean
    • Finger & Toes nails are to be trimmed short.
    • No jewelry or watches

Respect

  • Extremely polite manners are expected at all times in class.
  • Students will bow to their instructors as a show of respect and the beginning and end of class, or upon entering or exiting the class if training is in progress.
  • Upper belts are to be addressed as Sir / Ma’am or Mr. /Mrs. regardless of age.
  • Foul language will not be tolerated, students violating this policy may be asked to leave the class.
  • No horse play.
  • Upper will set the expectations and example for the younger students.

Safety

  • Any and all injuries are to be reported to the instructor immediately.
  • Sparring will only take place under the direct supervision of an instructor.
  • Protective gear (Head gear / boots / gloves / mouth guard) shall be worn when sparring, unless light contact with a Black Belt is taking place.
  • No punches or kicks to the groin or face will be allowed.

Practice at home is vital for the student to progress in any martial arts training. 80% of what a person learns is directly attributed to the amount of time a student spends taking what they learn in class and practicing it at home. Not having enough time or space to practice is no excuse. Balancing and stretching can be done while watching T.V. Practice requires discipline which is required to advance.
